Enthesitis Related Arthritis

Updated: Apr 3, 2021

Last week, I was at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and I had a full body MRI there. I also had some blood work done. The blood work showed that my inflammatory markers were higher than last time and the full body MRI showed new lesions which were inflamed. The new lesions were mainly entheses. Entheses are the ligaments and tendons in your joints that connect your bones together. So the rheumatologist at the hospital said that I have Enthesitis Related Arthritis (ERA) in addition to Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis (CRMO). I am going to start a new medication called Humira/Adalimumab. This medication is a biologic and requires a once every 2 week sub cutaneous injection. Hopefully I can play sports again when I start this medication.
